Motorola's sales fell 28% to 5.37 billion US dollars in the first quarter of 2009 compared with the same period a year earlier. Revenues in its mobile device segment were down 45% to 1.8 billion dollars. During the quarter, Motorola shipped 14.7 million handsets and estimates its share of the global handset market was 6%.
