Phone Sales Collapse for Microsoft

Microsoft reported a 2% year-on-year decline in revenue in the third quarter to 21.7 billion dollars,  blaming the changes in its phone business, which it is restructuring.  Revenue from sales of phone hardware fell 54% to 1.1 billion dollars, but Microsoft's Devices & Consumer Other segment saw revenue rise 33%. That segment includes advertising, Xbox Live transactional revenue and Office 365 Home Premium subscriptions.
