In western Europe, feature phone shipments fell 29% year-on-year to 20.4 million units in the second quarter, while smartphone shipments increased 48% to 21.8 million units, according to IDC. The analyst firm said the total western European mobile phone market declined 3% year on year to 42.2 million units in the quarter.
