Hit by falling handset prices, LG Electronics said revenues in its mobile communications division fell 29.5% year-on-year to 3,619 billion Korean won (3.02 billion US dollars) in the second quarter of 2010. LG said its handset shipments rose 2% year-on-year to 30.6 million units. The Korean company expects new models, including smartphones, to lift its revenues in its home market and in North America in the third-quarter.
