Oi, which recently acquired Brasil Telecom, posted an underlying 4% year-on-year rise in revenues to 7.49 Brazilian reals (3.59 billion US dollars) in the first quarter of 2008. Claiming to be the fastest-growing Brazilian operator last quarter, Oi said its cellphone customer base grew 45% year-on-year to almost 32 million clients.
